Explanation

At the entrance of Oni Island is a small pool of lava. You are intended to use Inferno to create a pillar (like Waterspout), then stand on the pillar using the Fire Tablet, to climb onto the upper platform the leads into the volcano. Raising this pillar (and thus the requirement of Inferno) can be skipped by performing a precise jump with gold dash, double jump, and air tackle from Otohime's head directly onto the upper platform. The timing for this is fairly precise, and there is no obvious cue. If you start with a tackle immediately after entering Oni Island, you will get gold dash a moment before the initial jump.
