Power Slash Upgrades

Explanation

In Okami, the Power Slash brush technique can be upgraded twice by paying money to cave maps accessible from North Ryo and Ezofuji. These upgrades affect the damage dealt by Power Slash to enemies, as well as your ability to cut through Iron and Crystal rocks, which are generally used to hide high-praise Clovers.

Mechanics

Ammy's Power Slash upgrade count is stored at main.dll+890A4C as a uint_8. By default, this value is 1, even if you haven't obtained Power Slash. Each upgrade increments it by 1, even if you perform glitches to enter the PS3 cave (in Ezofuji) before the PS2 cave (in North Ryo), up to a maximum of 3. If this value is set greater than 3, you will be able to cut Iron and Crystal rocks, but the damage dealt by PS in-battle will be equal to base Power Slash.
